A truly magnificent and rare English Victorian Bronze inkwell beautifully executed in the form of a very dapper and handsome Lion.
Standing on a black marble plinth, the handsome Lion wears a top hat and sports his monocle on a chain. Retaining his two wonderful glass eyes and his cigar being where a pen could be placed.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a removable glass ink chamber.
Dating to c.1860, it remains in superb condition. A rare example. 5" in diameter x 5 1/2" tall.
