Description

A wonderful late nineteenth century biscuit box made from solid English Oak with silver plated fittings, always a winning combination and highly sought-after.
The box has two lift up lids into the metal lined interior, lovely and clean and perfectly usable.
Either side of the box is mounted with a presentation shield, one side engraved "Repository Competition, 1884. 2nd Prize" and on the reverse, "Sergt T.R. Lilburn, No 2 Battery, T.A.V."
A wonderful looking piece in superb condition measuring 7 1/2" wide x 6" foot to foot deep x 8" tall to top of handle.
