Description

A wonderful example of a Victorian biscuit barrel, sometimes referred to as a cracker barrel ... perfect for candies, biscuits, cookies or the like.
The base stands on four highly decorative ball and claw feet and the entire circumference enhanced with a variety of decoration.
The underside of the stand is where the makers mark can be found; T.T. for Thomas Turner & Co. and dating to around 1880.
The glass is just splendid with the a deep all-over cut in the ever-popular hobnail design, with a vertical line cut border at the top and the underside with a star cut design.
A grand example is superb condition, the only slight wear to the plate is under the glass, mentioned purely for accuracy. The base measures 8" foot to foot and stands 9 1/2" tall.
