rare antique ivory tortoise shell and mother of pearl vesta case

Description

Almost like a miniature visiting card case, this is an unusual pocket Vesta dating to the Victorian era, around 1870.
The front and back panels are decorated with a combination of antique Tortoiseshell and Mother of Pearl shell; the sides finished in polished Ivory.
The metal button to the front used to open is in full working order and the small hinge in perfect shape too. The brass strike where the matches would be struck is on the underside.
Excellent condition, measuring 2" x 1 1/8" x 1/2" thick.
