excellent oak and silver plate cow butter dish c1900

Description

A fabulous example of a late Victorian butter dish made from solid English Oak in the form of a coopered pail with a handle to either side and an impressive tiered lid topped with a figural cow.
The lid removed to remove the original ceramic liner intact with only minor glaze crazing.
Dating to c.1890 it remains in superb condition. 6 5/8" handle to handle x 6 3/8" x 5 1/4" to top of cow.
