Description
A wonderful antique English silver plated ice pail in the form of coopered wooden bucket with swing handle.
What makes this example particularly special is the original hand blown glass liner, rarely do they have a liner. There is also a silver plated drainer which sits inside the glass liner to allow the melt to fall through to the space below.
The underside is fully marked for the well respected silversmith, Atkin Brothers of Sheffield and dates to around 1910.
A lovely example is excellent antique condition without loss of the silver plating and the glass is miraculously undamaged.
The rim diameter measures 4 1/2" in diameter and stands 5" to top of rim or 9" to top of swing handle.
