Description
A handsome Art Deco silver plated cocktail shaker by top quality silversmith Christofle as part of their Gallia range in the Ondulations design.This design was created for the luxury liner SS Normandie by the designer Luc Lanel. This grand Ocean liner's first class passenger spaces were decorated in the trendiest Art Deco style and filled with luxuries the bars filled with these smart Art Deco Cocktail Shakers.
Fully marked on the underside with the Cockerel and Gallia below together with the Chess O/C (ORFÈVRERIE CHRISTOFLE) mark.
Dating to c.1935. Excellent condition just back from our silversmith's workshop where it has been professionally cleaned and polished, restoring it to it's former glory. Measuring: 10" tall x 3 1/2" in diameter.
