A magnificent genuine novelty blue glass decanter with silver plated fittings. We have left the fittings with their wonderful antique patina which gives it such character, the hinged head lid sporting it's two original glass eyes.
Once opened, the removable blue glass stopper is revealed. The glass on the underside is engraved
"Geschützt" . Pronounced "guess-shutst," the term is an abbreviation of gesetzlich geschutt, a German phrase that translates as "legally protected" or "copyrighted." The term is similar in meaning to the English terms patented or patent-pending.
Dating to the Edwardian period, dating to c.1910, it remains in superb condition. 3 1/2" wide x 5 1/2" deep x 8" tall.
