Description

A magnificent and rare late Victorian inkstand / desk set made from heavy cast polished brass topped with a cold painted figure of a jockey sporting it's original paint; beautifully executed.
The two inkwells are made from crystal, hand-cut and topped with hinged brass lids; the inkwells affixed to the base.
The figure of the jockey, swivels on a single pin, revealing a pen nib / postage stamp storage compartment. The front of the inkstand is mounted with a horse's head; the perfect addition to the desk-top of the equestrian / horse racing devotee.
Superb antique condition measuring 11" x 4" x 8 1/4" tall.
