Description

A stunning and rarely found desk compass made from silvered bronze with the famous Equestrian horse head from the world renowned Maison Hermes, Paris, contemporary artisans since 1837.
The underside of horse head handle is hallmarked by Ravinet d'enfert and signed Hermes, Paris. The body of the compass is wrapped with a strip of cognac coloured leather.
The compass is fully working the blue needle indicating north.
Dating to c.1960, this magnificent desk-top gem remains in excellent condition measuring 5 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 2 1/8".
