pristine leather aide memoir with champagne silk lining c1890

Description

An exceptional and wonderful English Victorian Aide Memoir / Wallet in untouched condition, clearly tucked away for the last 100 years or so, dating to around 1890.
Made from a Burgundy red leather, there is a silver coloured nickel catch to the front in perfect working order. Once opened the interior really is impressive all lined in Champagne coloured silk, in mint condition with a large embroidered monogram, I think O B.
There are numerous compartments including a removable sleeve backed in silk and trimmed in the red leather with the front mounted with a beige calf or pig skin photograph frame with an aperture measuring 3 1/4" x 2".
Exceptional in every way, measuring 5 3/4" x 4" while closed. The pencil requires lead, currently not operating, as is.
