Rare Antique Asprey Sterling Silver Cylindrical Box / Tea Caddy - 1913

Item Ref

A stunning top-quality early twentieth century cylindrical box or tea caddy, a rare find by Asprey of Bond Street, London.
With all over engine turned decoration, the box is made from a good gauge sold silver with a good weight. The base of the box is stamped "Asprey Bond Street" and the rim of the box is fully hallmarked for London 1913 together with the maker's mark for Asprey. The lid has a different hallmark, the lid would either have been made for Asprey or the entire box box made for Asprey.
The lid fits perfectly and once opened the lavish original gilding is revealed. A smart and stylish box in excellent condition measuring 3" in diameter across the lid x 3 1/8" tall.
