Description
A wonderful and highly sought-after photograph frame with a romantic heart shaped aperture, for that very special picture.The front panel is created by repousse flutes with a beaded detailing both on the edge and around the heart. To the top is an oval shaped vacant cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith to create a personalized gem. The front retains it's original glass with a heart shaped bevelled edge.
The frame stands on a folding easel stand and is covered in a red leather, with wear commensurate with age. The silver is hallmarked for the highly collectible Chester assay office and the year 1896. The makers initials are also present HM for the silversmith Henry Matthews.
Excellent condition, measuring 7" x 5 1/4" with an aperture measuring 5" x 3 7/8".
