Description
A stunning Art Deco trophy / box; topped with a beautifully executed bronze or brass cast Greyhound, finished in silver plate.The box has some beautiful engraved Art Deco decoration on all sides and the trophy also engraved "Sheffield Daily Telegraph / Greyhound Trophy / Won by Carbrook Wonder / Owlerton Charity Meeting / September 25 1932".
The box stands on an ebonised wooden plinth and in turn, stands on four stepped feet. The hinged lid lifts to reveal a wooden lined interior and retains some photographs and newspaper clippings of Greyhound and owner, Mr W H Dawson.
A stunning and highly decorative box in excellent condition measuring 10 3/4" foot to foot x 7 1/4" x 12 1/2" tall to top of dog.
