Description

A stunning Art Deco trophy / box; topped with a beautifully executed bronze or brass cast Greyhound, finished in silver plate.
The box has some beautiful engraved Art Deco decoration on all sides and the trophy also engraved "Sheffield Daily Telegraph / Greyhound Trophy / Won by Carbrook Wonder / Owlerton Charity Meeting / September 25 1932".
The box stands on an ebonised wooden plinth and in turn, stands on four stepped feet. The hinged lid lifts to reveal a wooden lined interior and retains some photographs and newspaper clippings of Greyhound and owner, Mr W H Dawson.
A stunning and highly decorative box in excellent condition measuring 10 3/4" foot to foot x 7 1/4" x 12 1/2" tall to top of dog.
