charming black forest pocket watch holder hare c1900

Description

A wonderful figural pocket watch stand (pocket watch not included) from Black Forest region, hand-carved around 1890/1900 from Linden wood.
Of course what makes this highly collectible is the carved Hare to the top, retaining it's two original glass eyes.
The hole in the underside is where the craftsman would have attached this piece of wood to a pole to keep steady during carving.
Excellent condition measuring 4" wide x 2 3/4" x 6 1/4" tall.
