Description

A lovely pair of Victorian entree dishes, made from silver plate by the top-notch silversmith, Elkington and Co. of Birmingham.
Being Elkington, it allows us to date them accurately from the date letter Y for the year 1884.
The removable handles allow for easy storage and also the lids to be turned upside down to create four open serving dishes.
They have a beautifully executed engraved frieze running around the lid with a cartouche to both the front and back. On one side of each, the original owner's Armorial Crests remains, both different. The circular cartouche to the other side are both vacant.
Excellent condition each measuring 12" x 9 1/4" x 5" tall to top of handle.
