Description
A stylish Art Deco Ice bucket with a striking geometric design. The bucket features sleek, streamlined horizontal ribbing (stries) hugging the rim and base, paired with distinctive tiered, geometric stepped handles. This clean, machine-age look is highly characteristic of French modernist barware from the mid-1930s.The bucket retains it's original frog or drainer, when ice melts it has a reservoir to rest and keep the ice cubes from sticking together.
The underside is marked PEMJA around a star motif, this has not been identified as such but the exact bucket design is a known modernist pattern created by the famous French silversmith firm Orfèvrerie Vuillermet, which operated out of Lyon, France, during the height of the Art Deco era.
Excellent vintage condition measuring 6 1/4" handle to handle x 4 7/8" x 5 1/4" tall.
